Hidden Hearts Cake // Valentines Cake

Valentines Day Special blog post! I'm here to show you how you can make your own Valentine Cake/ Hidden Hearts.

INGREDIENTS
For the Chocolate Hearts (Chocolate Victoria Sponge)
3oz Self Raising Flour
1oz Cocoa Powder
4oz Sugar
4oz Soft Marg
1 tbsp Milk
2 Eggs

For the normal Victoria Sponge Part
4oz Self Raising
4oz Sugar
4oz Soft Marg
1tblsp Milk
2 Eggs

Method
1. Preheat oven on fan 160
2. Mix Chocolate Vic. Sponge and scoop into a 1 lb loaf tin. Put in oven for 35-40 mins.
3. Once the cake is baked, leave it to cool.
4. While it's cooling, you can make the other cake (the normal victorian sponge cake, BUT DON'T BAKE IT (yet.)
5. So when the chocolate cake is cool, cut it into 8 slices, then cut a heart out of each slice. like this---
(You don't need the excess cake for the actual cake, so you can eat it during
the bake!

6. The next part is hard to explain, so I'll try my best then I'll leave you with a photo. Put 1/3 of the 'Step 4' Mix in a 1lb loaf tin. Line hearts in centre like this---

7. Then put the rest of the mix on the top and round the sides (without disturbing the hearts)
8. Put in the oven for 35-40 minutes.
9. When it's cooked, leave to cool. While cooking make up the Nutella butter icing

FOR THE BUTTER ICING

1. Soften 1.5oz butter. Mix in 3oz icing sugar, a tbsp milk, and a heaped tsp Nutella. Beat together.
2. Spread on the top of the cool cake.
